Knockahoma Nation Episode 99

Welcome to Week 1 of our 2019 Prospects Summit. We did our first “prospects summit” last year and had a blast, so we thought we’d continue the tradition. This year, Dylan Short and Andy Harris return from last year’s summit, and we invited a few new faces, including Jason Woodell from Prospects Live, Gaurav Vedak from Talking Chop and Road to Atlanta, and Ben Chase from Call to the Pen.

This week, Josh also sits down with Braves beat writer, David O’Brien. Many of you know “DOB” as the main Braves beat guy over at the AJC for years. He’s now part of The Athletic, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him as a guest. The guy has so many stories to tell and one hour wasn’t enough, so we hope he comes back sometime.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 98

Baseball is back! Well, sort of. Spring Training is here!

This week features guest appearances by Jeff Schultz from The Athletic, Kevin McAlpin from Atlanta’s 680 The Fan, and our friend Jeff Jones (aka @ProspectsBraves on Twitter). We talk Braves front office spending, off-season spending and Philadelphia sports. We hope you enjoy.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 82

Welcome to another week of the Knockahoma Nation podcast show. This week the boys bring on their friend J.T. to recap Saturday’s college football match-ups.

Josh and Kenny go on to discuss the every-changing landscape of baseball – the steep decline of African Americans in the game, pitching changes, dingers, etc. They might also talk about Trump, so please consider listening under the supervision of a friend.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 81

This week on the Knockahoma Nation podcast Josh and Kenny take a deep dive into catching options for the Atlanta Braves going into next year.

Cervelli? Bring back Zuk? Maybe sign a guy like Ramos for a 2-3 deal until William Contreras is MLB ready? The boys look at all the angles but can’t promise answers.

Also – Here’s Wayne Cavaldi’s article on William Contreras, as mentioned in the podcast. It’s very good, and if you’re a Braves fan, it should excite you about this young catching prospect.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 78 (Playoff Edition)

The 2018 Atlanta Braves were projected by most to win around 72-77 games. Instead, they’ve been the darlings of baseball and Brian Snitker is a shoe-in for NL Manager of the Year. And, for the first time in five years they’re headed to the playoffs.

All of this being said, it only made sense for Knockahoma Nation to bring you an EXTRA sort of show. Guests this week include Michael Kelly, Matthew Kaminski (the Braves organist guy), Timothy Miller, Doc Herbert and 1966 AL wins leader Jim Kaat.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 76

This week the boys fall prey to Playoff Fever. With the Atlanta Braves on the brink of clinching the NL East, Josh and Kenny talk about what their playoff starting rotation should be.

Other topics covered on this podcast include, but are not limited to: Serena Williams, Baker Mayfield, Brian Snitker, Hurricane Florence.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 73

This week on Knockahoma Nation war lords Josh and Ken try understanding the difference between fWAR and bWAR. We’re still not sure they quite understand.

They also talk a bit about how the Braves pitching has been. And, somehow, someway, Josh has had a change of heart about Julio Teheran. Josh is convinced the Braves should now keep him. Ken thinks he’s crazy.

Keith Law’s terrible tweets this week about Daniel Murphy aren’t off the table either. The boys go in spikes first at Keith for calling Daniel Murphy a bigot this week on Twitter.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 66

This week on Knockahoma Nation Ken explains what a baseball manager does and Josh recaps his interesting trip to ElizaBETHton, Tennessee to see the Danville Braves. Did you know that they don’t serve beer at ElizaBETHton Twins games? It’s true.

Ken also gets philosophical, and talks forever, about his favorite past time, the grandest game of all, baseball.
