Knockahoma Nation Episode 81

This week on the Knockahoma Nation podcast Josh and Kenny take a deep dive into catching options for the Atlanta Braves going into next year.

Cervelli? Bring back Zuk? Maybe sign a guy like Ramos for a 2-3 deal until William Contreras is MLB ready? The boys look at all the angles but can’t promise answers.

Also – Here’s Wayne Cavaldi’s article on William Contreras, as mentioned in the podcast. It’s very good, and if you’re a Braves fan, it should excite you about this young catching prospect.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 77

The Atlanta Braves are your 2018 National League East Champions. That’s right. The year in which they were projected by almost every reputable sports outlet to be the laughing stock of the NL East (again) they shocked they world.

This week we’ve got Josh’s cousin, Kent, on the show. With Josh and Kent together, they can troll anyone. We not only talk about potential Braves playoff match-ups, but also some college football. We’re sorry. It’s football season, too, and we cannot help ourselves.

Also, get ready for next week because we’ve got some surprises up our sleeves.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 75

Welcome to another episode of your favorite Braves (ish) podcast. This week the boys recap Kenny’s vacation and talk about the most important things in life – college football, how to tailgate at a Notre Dame game and what makes a good beach bar.

They also talk about Colin Kaepernick. Fun fact – He’s a terrible quarterback. Which might have more to do with the fact that he can’t find a job than his political views.

Oh, the boys also talked about one of the ailments that hurts players’ on-the-field performance – the booty effect.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 69

This week Josh and Ken go hard in the paint at some Braves bloggers. They discuss the political divide of baseball. Why do old school guys hate the analytics crowd? Why is the analytics crowd so rude and condescending to the old school crowd?

They also talk about Trump.

No animals were harmed in the recording of this gluten-free podcast, but we can’t promise about your feelings.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 68

This week Josh is off rubbing elbows with Elon Musk and driving his Tesla around the country, so Ken takes the Allstar Break to take a look back at a few things from the offseason and from last year.

This episode has some of the best moments on the show from the last year and a half and is guaranteed to make you laugh, possibly cry, and be ready to win the World Series. It’s going to be an exciting second half for the Braves and we appreciate you being a part of the community that is Knockahoma Nation!

Enjoy.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 63

Greetings, Knockahoma Nation. Do we care about Brian Snitker‘s bullpen management? Do we care about Liberty Media’s involvement in the financials of the Atlanta Braves? Do we care about what the Braves might do by the trade deadline? We do not. Why? Because the Atlanta Braves are in first place.

This week we discuss deep complex issues like Dansby Swanson, pop country and why Jonathan Howard is still single. We don’t have an answer for the latter.

Knockahoma Nation Episode 58

It’s early, it’s only mid-May, but the Atlanta Braves are in first place? Will it last? Is this offense sustainable? We talk about this on this week’s podcast. We also wax philosophic about Nick Markakis, out of Young Harris. What’s funny is the narrative being written about Nick’s insanely hot start to this season. Folks are painting the picture that he’s been terrible up until 2018. Well, we set the record straight on this with good ole fashioned facts.

Josh also tells the story of that time the Atlanta Braves drafted Tom Seaver in 1966. True story. By all accounts, Tom Seaver should have been a Brave and the course of history could have been much different for the Braves in the 70’s had that happened. But something weird happened. Listen to find out.

Episode 56 – Knockahoma Nation Podcast

The days of Ronald Acuña are upon us, Knockahoma Nation. Also, Ozzie Albies is really good, Johan Camargo needs to start, Austin Riley is tearing it up, and much more. This week the boys are joined by Ken’s father in law, Pastor and former College baseball coach Robbie Jones, and Josh and Ken remind folks what this podcast is all about.

Episode 54 – Knockahoma Nation Podcast

The Unexpected Braves

It’s safe to say that the Bravos are better than anyone (except Josh) projected them to be. It’s still early, but so far this team has been fun to watch (even after that weird game in Chicago yesterday).

This week on the podcast Josh and Ken talk about:

  • Is Ozzie Albies the greatest second baseman of all time?
  • Is A.J. Minter the best pitcher? Or the best pitcher ever?
  • Dansby Swanson looks like a brand new man.
  • Josh gets political
  • Ken gets traditional
  • and much more!

Episode 53 – Knockahoma Nation Podcast

After a couple of weeks of Atlanta Braves baseball, it’s looking like the Bravos aren’t that bad. It’s also looking Brian Snitker might know what he’s doing. It’s almost like Brian Snitker has been managing baseball players since 1982 or something and none of us have. Very interesting.

This week on the podcast:

  • LIVE and exclusive footage of the 2018 Braves Masturds (a tradition unlike any other)
  • Josh teaches us about UZR
  • Ken talks about the foundation of the podcast and some of the advanced metrics of baseball
  • The boys review this past week in Braves Country
